Don't Cry for Me Argentina

So, the rumors are true. The price of sharing the adventures of Matt and ET required a fee in recording such an event. So here goes. Bear with me ;)

Day 1. The first 30 hours looked something like this: Chicago to JFK to Buenos Aires Airport #1 to Buenos Aires Airport #2 to Iguazu Airport to Marco Polo Hostel.

First lesson: Matt and Elizabeth are super far away at this point of their trip. Nothing however, that American Airlines can't help with.

Second lesson: Don't mess with Elizabeth. Especially if you are a random bunkmate #5 who switches mattress with the new american girl after sleeping/sweating/pantless in said mattress for two hours before making switch. Elizabeth saved day. Without intervention, Whitney would have cooties for the rest of the week.

Day 2. Izuagu Falls – Argentina National Park
The morning starts early with coffee, bumble bees and new chatty friends in the shuttle bus to the park. The mission of the day was to take in as many water falls as possible. Matt, super photographer of the day, had fabulous shots. Pictures will do a whole lot better than words on describing the beauty, magnitude and overall breathtaking views of the park – check out the gallery. A quick tally of the day includes:
  • 20+ waterfalls
  • 7 hours of hiking
  • 4 trails
  • 3 rainbows
  • 2 train rides
  • 3 Popsicles
  • 1 amazing boat ride under the falls with a party of french people who all wore their swimsuits and guides wore head to toe rainsuits. This should have been hint. Hiked in soggy clothes for next couple hours. Would repeat experience in a second.
  • 1 mean raccoon like animal thing that stole candy from Elizabeth's bag
  • Hundreds of butterflies

Day two/day three wrapped up with boarding a Fletcha Bus, non-stop to Buenos Aires, estimated at 17 hours around 7:30 on Sunday night. Pillow, blanket, sleeper seat and breakfast included. One drug bust, via a “routine” stop with a super-sniffing dog, 20 hours and multiple breakfast rolls later, we arrived in the capital and checked into the beautiful, very european home for the week, in the Central region of the city.

More coming soon!
